New Payment Mailing Address Effective April 1, 2009— March 13, 2009 (Click here for new address)

Please note, you will not be able to send funds overnight via FedEx or UPS because they cannot deliver to a P O Box.  There is NOT a street address in Memphis that will accept payments.  Anything sent via FedEx or UPS will be returned to you at your expense and could take an extended period of time.

Overnight payments may only be sent via the U. S. Postal Service Express mail service to the P O Box address.  Express mail should be used only when necessary.

The Trustee Office is not moving.  We will still be located in Montgomery.  However, plan payments will no longer be accepted at the old Birmingham Lockbox address.

Plan Payments dropped off at the office in Montgomery,  or sent to the office in Montgomery via overnight courier, certified mail, registered mail, or regular U.S. mail will NOT immediately be credited to your case.  Payments received in the office will be mailed to the P O Box in Memphis for processing before the payment will be posted to your case.

CHANGE REGARDING PLAN PAYMENTS MADE BY EMPLOYER CHECK, MONEY ORDER OR CASHIERS CHECK

The Trustee’s office does not accept plan payments from debtors made by personal check.  The Trustee's office holds plan payments made by employer personal check for one disbursement cycle to ensure that the funds are good.  These changes will not affect plan payments made by attorney trust account check. This change could affect the timing of certain pre and post-confirmation adequate protection payments, depending upon the debtor's plan. Furthermore, if a debtor's check is returned for insufficient funds, the Trustee will assess a $30.00 returned check charge that will appear on the debtor's case.
